“Not Guilty” – Justice in Fort Stockton, Texas
The fight for justice continues:
On August 23, 2022, in Fort Stockton, Texas (Pecos County), in front of 83rd Judicial District Judge Robert Cadena, I secured two directed verdicts of “Not Guilty” on two state criminal cases being brought against my client Casey Ann Gregory Free.
Miss Free was charged with a 1st Degree Felony of Manufacturing & Delivery of a Controlled Substance and a 3rd Degree Felony of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a felon. If convicted, Miss Free would have been looking at a term of at least 5 years imprisonment up to 99 years or life imprisonment.
After a short day and a half of testimony in front of an empaneled jury, Judge Cadena granted my motion for a Directed Verdict and the Judge instructed the jury to return with 2 verdicts of Not Guilty.
After hearing the evidence presented at the trail, Judge Cadena found that State/District Attorney office of Ori T. White, the elected District Attorney for the 83rd Judicial District covering Pecos County, did not prove their respective cases as a matter of law.
As always, the work of the incredible staff of The Bagley Law Firm, Rose Soto and Yolanda Bagley, must be highlighted as their dedication is instrumental in achieving these just results.
